Ants and I went home to the Naki today. We were planning on leaving early in the morning, but Mum and Dad didn`t get back from Aussie until 5:30pm, so we took our time leaving, and getting up there. It was nice not to have to rush, and the traffic was pretty good.

We stopped in at Bulls at the Dutch shop so Ants could buy some Dutch lollies. While there, I spotted a really awesome style that suited me perfectly. That was odd, because I don`t usually suit hats. It was $45 though, and I couldn`t really justify buying it.

Coming into the Naki was beautiful. The mountain was lovely, and I got some terrific photos.

We met up with Cuz at my auntie`s place in New Plymouth where we were staying. We hung out for a bit before getting ready to go out. Before heading to town, we stopped in at the foreshore to have a walk along it. It was really warm and calm.

Then we headed up to Crowded House.

We were the first three there, then Katrina turned up. She was tired because she`d been doing dressage with the horses all day. She could barely keep her eyes open! She said that the girls found her asleep in one of the floats, and they had to wake her up.

Jeanette and Jason and their [step] daughter came, and then Maxiene.

It was lovely to see everybody again. Cuz ordered a Barmaid (beer on tap) for the table, with Tui in it. I was surprised because I actually felt like drinking beer, so I had a handle, Cuz had four, and Ants had two.

Ants and I had a “˜Naki burger` for dinner which was so huge I couldn`t eat it all. I was a bit disappointed because my cousins and their friend piked on me, so I didn`t get to see them, but it was a good night all the same. Max had work the next day, and J&J had to get their daughter home. Kat was tired, so it was just Ants, Cuz and I who went down to the Grumpy Mole for a dance and a few drinks.

I had been hanging out for a backdraft, but they didn`t serve them, so we had a makeshift one. Wasn`t as good as the real deal, but it did the trick.

After dancing for a while, we went back to Lyn`s place to pick up Ants`s car to drive around. We went around all our old flats, and played the “remember when”game. It`s funny the things you remember when your memory gets jogged. It was getting late so we got home about 1:30am and straight to sleep. After being up early and the long trip, we were tired!
