NZ post has been chewed by puppies

Oh dear. My wonderfully good NZ post pen and my newspaper of sudoku was chewed by puppies today, as Ants and I discovered when we came home from the movies. I had put both of them on the side table, thinking that they would be out of harms way there.  I was wrong.  I’m mostly disappointed because the pen was given to me by one of the Kiwi’s on my Pikler course. It wrote really really well.

In other news, Ants and I saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince tonight. It was fairly good. Once again they had to cut out most of the background story, however, the main story was stuck to. Ron was a dweeb, Lavender was suitably annoying. Malfoy was played beautifully, and Harry, well, he was Harry.  There were many LOTR moments in the movie though with Gollum being a model for the infuiri, Dumbledoor taking a likening to Gandalf, and of course the death eaters are much like ringwraith.  But that aside, it was a good job. Not as squeamishly bad like the first 3 films. I’m pleased with the new directors work.

Before the movie, we had a lunch/dinner at ‘Old Orleans’ which sold not just jambalaya and such, but also bloody good mexican. So that’s what we got, a lime chillie chicken, and a steak fajitas, plus a key lime pie (thanks to Dexter) and a banana smoothie.  Mmm yum, my tummy is full.
